No organization, and no leader, has shown more courage and determination than the Maine Grassroots Coalition and Paul Madore.

Since 1992 Paul Madore has stood tall and immovable like an ancient Maine pine tree. He has withstood the gale winds of bomb threats against his family of nine children. No man has come under more withering public attack. All this, unbelievably, because he stands on his Biblical conviction that homosexuality is morally wrong. As a faithful Catholic man Madore’s only “sin” is rejecting the homosexual agenda.

In 1992 all of his hometown elites in Lewiston supported homosexuality. Madore rallied regular citizens in a referendum effort. When the votes were counted he tallied over 67 percent. The Maine Grassroots Coalition handed the homosexual lobby their most embarrassing ballot defeat in history. They never recovered.

Madore then led his Catholic activist organization to war on a larger battlefield. He joined with the Christian Civic League of Maine and the Christian Coalition of Maine in multiple statewide battles between 1994 and 2000. In all cases the contribution of the Maine Grassroots Coalition to the overall effort was invaluable. In most cases Madore won.

Now Madore joins the battle again with the same heart, courage and determination that Maine people have seen in him, and appreciated, before. He adds to his activist toolbox new communications tools. The Maine Grassroots Coalition will make maximum use of the internet and this website in the battle to uphold traditional marriage and save Maine families from the horror of homosexuality.
